Allee Willis is a Star

Valley Village, CA

Not only has she penned so many of the songs that define our times - hits for Earth Wind and Fire, The Pet Shop Boys, The Pointer Sisters, even the theme song for Friends...

But she also created the "Museum of Kitsch-ness" in her basement...

...and throws the best damn celebrity studded parties in Hollywood (well, Valley Village.) This one was to raise money to add an extensive collection of soul music to schools across the country. God bless her.

And she does all this in her 1937 PINK modernist home, originally built as the party house for Warner Brothers.

See, its all about commitment with Allee. Going all the way. Doing it shamelessly and fearlessly. Believe it - or at least go through the motions until you figure out what you believe.

In my book, that makes you a star.

So, Allee Willis is my new hero.

And while all the celebrities were gagging on the lovely extravaganza, I had a pixie stick and a colt 45, and soon after, found myself in the empty bedroom with the coats, trying to find a reason to stay. There wasn't one.
